Capuzzi

Giuseppe Antonio Capuzzi (Bresccia 1755-Bergamo1818)
Italian violinist and composer. He was very popular at his time, but he’s been unfortunately forgotten nowadays. He had a very active and successful career, performing as the director of the orchestra and the Santa Maria Maggiore Conservatory in Bergamo among other positions. His catalog is extensive and wide-ranging, including five operas, eleven ballets, four concertos for violin and orchestra, 18 string quartets, six quintets and a concerto for double bass and orchestra that is the only one of his works that is still frequently performed.
