Larsson

Lars Erik Larsson (Akarp 1908-Helsinborg 1986):
Swedish composer, disciple of Alban Berg in Vienna and of Fritz Reuter in Leipzig. He served as Professor of Composition at the Stockholm Conservatory and as the Director of the Music Department at Uppsala University. Larsson went through many styles throughout his career: late romanticism, with influences from Jan Sibelius; twelve-tone techniques and neoclassicism, with sounds reminiscent of Paul Hindemith. He has a large catalog of works, including an opera, The Princess of Cyprus; three symphonies and a series of 12 concertinos for different solo instruments.
